Another successful investigation leads to the recovery of a lost suitcase on the island of Ko Samui in Surat Thani province in Southern Thailand. If you lost something in Thailand, let us know. The fees are very reasonable and though we don’t find everything, there is at least a chance that for $12 USD, you can also find your lost items!

Subject: Lost Suitcase in Ko Samui – Desperate for Help

Hi there,
My name is Terrance and this is a little embarrassing, but I lost my suitcase on Ko Samui Island a few days ago, and I’m desperately hoping someone can help.
I was on a two-week trip through Thailande with three close friends—sort of a last-hurrah kind of thing before I take on a new job back in the UK. We started in Bangkok, partied a little too hard there, then made our way south to Krabi, Phi Phi, and finally Ko Samui. The island was a dream—crystal clear water, sunsets that made you forget where you were, and yes… the nightlife. Especially the red-light district. That’s where the story takes a turn.
It was our second night in Ko Samui, and we’d just checked into a budget hotel near Chaweng Beach. I didn’t want to lug my suitcase up four flights of stairs—no elevator—so I figured, screw it, I’ll leave it in the back of the car and grab it after dinner.
We headed out for food, then hit the bars. You know how it goes—fire dancers, buckets of vodka Red Bull, neon everything, and more beautiful chaos than you can describe. I got caught up in the moment. I honestly forgot I even had a suitcase. Didn’t even think about it until the next morning when I went to grab a fresh shirt and realized… my bag wasn’t in the bonnet anymore. I checked the hotel, the front desk, retraced our steps, even talked to a few bar owners and security guards.
Nothing.
Inside the suitcase were about four days’ worth of clothes, my return flight paperwork, a bit of cash I stashed in one of the side pockets, and worst of all—my MacBook Pro 14″, which I brought to journal my trip and do a little freelance work while abroad. That thing has my life on it.
I flew back to the UK yesterday, and now I’m stuck without my work files, some important documents, and yeah, sentimental stuff too. I’m kicking myself for being so careless. I know it’s a long shot, but if there’s any way to find that suitcase, I’m willing to offer a reward of 10,000 THB to whoever gets it back to me. I’ll also gladly pay whatever your fee is to help get this process started.
Thanks so much,
Terrance

Hi Terrance,
Thank you for reaching out. I’m sorry to hear about your suitcase—it happens more often than you might think, especially in lively places like Ko Samui.
To begin the search, we’ll need a few specific details from you:
- Exact date and time you believe the suitcase was lost.
- Name of the bar(s) you visited that night or general area (street name, landmarks).
- Description of the suitcase – size, brand, color, any stickers or tags.
- List of contents – anything specific or valuable we should know about.
- Your current location and contact number (WhatsApp is fine).
- Any photos of you during the trip, particularly wearing any of the clothes that were in the bag.
- Copy of ID (passport or driver’s license preferred) – just for verification if the bag is found.
Please also confirm that you’re OK to pay our 400 THB service fee to initiate the process. We’ll send that email link right now. Once we have your details, we’ll start calling businesses, taxi services, and post in local lost-and-found forums and Facebook groups.
Looking forward to helping you get your stuff back.
Best,
Lek

Hi Lek,
Thanks so much for the quick response. I’m back in the UK now—just got in yesterday—and still trying to get back into work mode without my MacBook.
Here’s the info you asked for:
- Date/Time Lost – Night of July 8th, probably between 9pm and 2am.
- Location – We were mostly around Soi Green Mango. We stopped at a couple of bars—one was called “Sweet Lips” and another had a fire show out front, maybe “Chill Out Bar.”
- Suitcase Description – Dark grey Samsonite hardshell carry-on size (I think 22 inches). It had a blue luggage strap around it, and a small British Airways tag from the flight into BKK.
- Contents –
- MacBook Pro 14″ (space grey)
- About 3,000 Thai baht cash
- Black Adidas swim shorts
- A few shirts (one with “London Marathon” on the front)
- Flip flops (green with black strap)
- Return flight itinerary printed on A4 paper
- A Moleskine journal with lots of handwritten notes
- Current Location/Contact – I’m in Brighton, UK. WhatsApp: +44 7XXXXXXX
- Photos & ID – Attached in this email. You’ll see a selfie of me at the beach in the swim shorts and one in a red shirt that was in the suitcase. Also attached is my UK driver’s license.
And yes, absolutely—I’ll pay the 400 THB service fee. I have the link in your other email.
And again—thank you. I’ll give 10,000 THB to whoever finds and returns the suitcase safely – including you.
Cheers,
Terrance

Terrance!
Great news—we believe we’ve located your suitcase.
After making over two dozen calls and posting in multiple Ko Samui expat and lost-and-found groups, a lady from the ferry office at Nathon Pier got in touch with us this morning. She said a suitcase matching your description was dropped off by someone who said they found it near a motorbike parking lot behind a bar in Chaweng. It had a blue strap and a BA tag still on it. She put it in their “holding room” in case someone came asking.
They’re not comfortable shipping it until they confirm ownership—standard procedure here to prevent scams or mistakes. So here’s what they’re asking for:
- Photo of your face holding your ID (passport or driver’s license is fine)
- A copy of your airline ticket or booking
- Any additional photos of you in clothes that were in the bag
- Any serial number or unique info about the MacBook Pro, if you have it
- A short video (optional) of you explaining what was inside the suitcase and when you lost it, to verify you’re the rightful owner
Once they receive those, and we help confirm it, we’ll coordinate with them to get it shipped back to the UK. You’ll just need to cover the shipping cost and provide a secure delivery address.
I’ll hang on tight until we hear back. Almost there!
Cheers,
Lek

LEK!!!
You absolute legend. This just made my entire week!
I can’t believe you actually found it. I honestly thought it was gone for good, probably being picked through by someone or sold in a secondhand shop.
I’ll get everything you mentioned sent over within the next few hours—photos, ID selfie, MacBook serial (I have it saved in my email), and that video too. I’ll also scan my airline e-ticket.
Let me know where to send the shipping money and whatever else is needed. And please—pass along my thanks to the lady at the ferry office. She’s got a good heart. And your whole team—amazing work. I meant it when I said I’d give a 10,000 THB reward. That’s still on the table.
Thanks again so much.
Terrance
